From November 7 to 10, the Fourth China Power Electronics and Energy Conversion Conference and Exhibition, together with the 28th Annual Academic Conference of the China Power Supply Society, was grandly held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. As an important component of this major event, the finals of the 11th University-Level Power Electronics Application Design Competition will officially kick off on November 6.

As the Platinum Partner of the competition, Micro‑Sense Technology provided participating teams with professional test equipment and comprehensive technical support. During the pre‑competition debugging sessions, each team used Micro‑Sense’s testing instruments to fine‑tune their prototypes and validate their performance. Micro‑Sense is a high‑tech company specializing in the research and development of test and measurement instruments, with its products widely deployed in the power electronics testing field.

At the competition‑technical briefing, Wang Guanqun, Director of Product Development at Maikexin Technology, presented advanced measurement tools such as optically isolated probes, explaining their testing methods and technical advantages. This helped students gain a deeper understanding of test principles, master proper measurement techniques, and provided robust technical support for refining their projects.

Competition Scale: Four Major Tracks Showcase Cutting-Edge Technological Strategies
The University Power Electronics Application Design Competition is an exploratory engineering‑practice initiative launched by the China Power Supply Society in 2015, open to students from universities across the country. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most influential undergraduate competitions in the field of power electronics nationwide.
This year’s competition adopts a multi‑track, problem‑based format, drawing nearly 300 teams from numerous universities across China, including Xi’an Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Hefei University of Technology. The 79 teams advancing to the finals will compete fiercely on four parallel tracks: the Infineon Cup for Advanced Power Conversion Technologies, the Sungrow Cup for New Energy and Energy Storage, the Delta Cup for Power Electronics and AI‑Driven Design, and the Xinrui Cup for Electromagnetic Compatibility Design.
Event Progress: From Innovative Concept to Practical Validation
Since its launch in early 2025, this competition has undergone rigorous screening through multiple stages, including project solicitation, preliminary evaluation, and the first round. Among nearly 300 registered teams, the most outstanding have advanced to the finals, where they will undergo on-site testing, showcase their work, and participate in oral defenses. An expert panel will then conduct a comprehensive assessment based on criteria such as innovation, technical complexity, and level of completion. The final results will be announced on November 7.
Event Value: Building an Innovation Platform for Industry–University–Research Collaboration
This year’s competition features a comprehensive awards system: in addition to cash prizes, winning teams will receive certificates of recognition issued by the China Power Supply Society—honors that enjoy broad acclaim in both academic and professional circles. Furthermore, the event offers participating students opportunities to engage with leading experts from China and abroad. This year, the conference has invited 13 distinguished specialists in power supplies and power electronics to deliver keynote presentations, sharing their latest research findings and establishing a valuable platform for scholarly exchange.
With the rapid development of strategic emerging industries such as new energy and artificial intelligence, power electronics technology is becoming a key enabler for industrial upgrading and the achievement of the “dual carbon” goals. Through its support of this year’s competition, Maikexin Technology aims to continue fulfilling its corporate mission of “empowering every professional in the electronics field and their organizations to achieve greater excellence,” thereby contributing to the cultivation of innovative talent and the advancement of technological progress.
